The orders for the A9 chips of the Apple iPhone 6s and iPhone Plus was split between two companies. One company manufacturing the chips for the iPhone is Samsung and another one is Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company. It was heard that TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) was supposed to be sole company who will be manufacturing the A10 chip being used in iPhone 7.
The news was reported in February this year. A reported published by the source from Korea also claims that the same is also true for the next year. The A11 chips being used for Apple iPhone 8 will be also manufactured by the TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company).
The report has been published by Economic Daily News in Chinese language. The A10 chips being powered in the latest iPhones is already being manufactured by TSMC. The Taiwan Company will be continuing their support for the Apple to be the sole manufacturer of their chips. TSMC is said to be always having the upper hand in technology as compared with Samsung. The test results have also shown that the iPhones using the TSMC chips were much cooler and consuming lesser battery comparatively as the ones which were using the Samsung chips. Apple says that the difference between both the chips is very small and can be considered negligible.
It has been also heard that the initial design of the A11 chips to be used in the iPhone 8 to be launched in 2017 has also been finalized with the company. Apple is planning something special next year. There are high similarities between the iPhone 6 and iPhone 7. The latest iPhone 7 launched in the market is only said to be upgraded with the camera, operating system and the home button. The design is almost similar with the iPhone 6.
