We live in an era, where technology is intrinsically related to our daily lives. We are now dependent on technology for very trivial reasons as well because it saves our precious time. It is also a great medium of communication and a place to air views about the present condition of the world.
It is an enormous platform via which one can reach out to millions of people and interact with them. If this can be used accordingly, then it has the potential to bring a change or at least to plant a seed which can flower later. And all these were rightly proved by Turkey because of its current circumstances.
How to take stand
At present, Turkey is in a toss because of a Military rebellion which has shaken the very seat of power and authority. Because of this revolution, the President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was driven out temporarily. And in order to contact with his subjects, the president was forced to take the help of technology. He called CNNTurk through Facetime/iPhone and gave an interview. Through this interview, the President urged his followers to come out to streets and protest against those who have thrown him out. This was indeed an innovative way to talk to his countrymen and pleading to them.
The After Effects
The situation of Turkey was already chaotic and this incident worsened its condition. That the President will resort to technical support wasn’t really expected and thus created a disruption. The CNNTurk was closed shortly after the incident. Moreover, Apple has decided not to open its two retail stores in that particular region as the President used iPhone and they don’t want to be dragged in the political scenario. It is expected that on Monday, it can reopen.
