All people who love to travel also have a fetish for clicking pictures. And if the pictures can be tagged with the location name then the memory becomes stronger. This facility can be availed by the smartphone users and they easily geotag. But there is good news for the shutterbugs with digicams as now they can also tag their photos using a new application, HoundahGeo 5.0.
This is basically an application of Mac, using which one can edit, insert or take away metadata of GPS implanted within the photos taken by digital cameras. It is available at the price $39 but Houdah advices the interested users to try the free trial pack before buying it, in order to check the compatibility of the app with the concerned device.
The Benefits offered
Undoubtedly, the idea is fresh and interesting and will be welcomed by the photographers. Now, let us zoom into its features. HoudahGeo’s workings are in tune with GPS track loggers and it supports the in vogue data formats NMEA and GPX. One can also tag photos by comparing the pictures clicked through iPads or iPhones instead of using track loggers.
This app works in three stages. The first one, Load where all the documents are loaded, next is Process, using which the actual editing or adding work is done. And finally, Output or Upload, where the tagged pictures are saved or uploaded. Through this app, the libraries of other companies can also be visited. The handling of this app is quite easy and won’t bother a novice.
Thumbs Down
Every app comes with its share of positives and negatives. Same holds true for this exciting app which helps to tag photos taken by digital cameras. The problem is, the app tracks with open sourced maps and can’t support OS X photo library. So, if you can bear this, give Geo a try.
