Acer’s H277HU monitor with 27 inch screen 1440p which is available in Amazon at a cost of $481 harmonizes well with the 2016 and 2015 MacBook. This connection is secured with the help of the only USB‐C port of the Macbook. The port is plugged into the monitor’s backside and then the display becomes active and can charge the laptop as well. At the display’s end to two Types A ports of USB 3.0 are also added.
This device is quite costly, $100 to be exact than its colleagues which are without USB‐C facility but there is no need to worry as within a short period of time, Dell and other companies will try to manufacture these.
Plus Points
Like any other device, this one also has both positive and negative impacts and effects. First let us look for the thumbs ups. The front glass well covers the top, right and left edges and thus provides a bright, sharp and wide view. Beneath the bottom‐left edge, the OSD i.e. the on‐ screen display buttons are hidden. The tone is deep and rich and runs smooth with Macbook of 2015. With the Display and HDMI Port present in the monitor, it can be connected to other devices as well. The speakers are of 3 watt and built within and are of mediocre standard.
The Minus‐es
The OSD buttons which are hidden, urges you to play hide and seek at the time of need. And because of their feather touch sensibility, they act too promptly than wanted. Another negative aspect of this monitor is that it comes with a set height (3 inches) and limited tilted swings (within 15 to 5 inch) which is very inconvenient for the users. Yes, it is expected that pros and cons both will be there but when the price is high, then expectation also increases.
