Apple is currently dealing with some annoying issues; they just can’t join the pieces together. There are many automated lock systems in the market, but Kevo is special. The application is simple and handling it is hassle‐free. It is generally compatible with all iPhones and Apple will make the future devices compatible too. The application must be downloaded on the phone and it is paired with the lock. The connection takes place through Bluetooth, nothing wrong about that. The touch system is also very good; other people in the family can use it too. Things changed a bit with the latest iOS 10, a bug entered the system.
One feature allowed users to unlock it with the help of touch; this key feature is now disabled. The company became furious and immediately talked with Apple; they were not ready with a solution. Kwikset began an email campaign to inform customers, some of them were still experiencing problems. Kwikset worked on this touch feature, as many users hate complications. In iOS 10, the phone has to be present with the user; the app needs to be opened physically. This will discourage users from downloading this useful app, Kwikset can’t stop that. The bug testing happened numerous times, but this one still persisted.
The regular key can also be used, but that makes this device useless. Kwikset will bring changes to the app, but the operating system is still the most important thing. It is unclear, why Apple used this code, the bug was developed unintentionally. Other options will be presented to the regular users, but they are losing faith. Kwikset’s business will be hampered, but people are mostly angry with Apple. Their updates are not advanced at all, they are going back. The fix must come in September and Cook’s company is confident about it. The security features will still remain the same though.
