PC World’s Agam Shah’s report that was released stated that most of the Android offerings had been discontinued by Dell previously. This also included the 2012 dropped smartphone brand named Venue. However the company still went ahead and continued to build the tablets for Venue. Along with that they also went ahead and build computers which are thumbing sized that could turn into a display which was also Wyse Cloud connect Android based.
Now the word is that even the various other Android products which were remaining have now been abandoned. It has also been stated that no new Android updates will be issued by Dell for them.
For those customers who own the Venue products which are Android based, which have an active service contract or active warranty will still be supported by the company until the expiration date, however when it comes to the OS upgrades of the future, the company will not push it. This is what a spokesman of the company had to cite in the report.
Considered to be the cheapest products of the company, the Android tablets of Dell was said to even be bundled with PC laptops for free. For the sustainable profitability to be maintained, this turned out to be a strategy that was poor. This was despite the that Strategy Analytics, Gartner, IDC and other such groups for research have been speaking about how the shipment volumes of Android has said to be meaningful for quite some time now. Even media sources abetted on the same, repeating with any criticism about the numbers.
Due to this, a new victim was claimed as the low end market shares were not sustainable. This is the reason why the tablet line of the Android based of the Venue brand has been dropped by the company recently.
