Apple once again got entangled in a political affair. Though the act was not at all deliberate yet the impact had an effect. However, Amazon and Google also shared the same fate with Apple, as they were also criticized by Elizabeth Warren, the Senator of Massachusetts for using their stature to overshadow their competitions. She took a dig at these popular companies while delivering her speech in ‘America’s Monopoly Problem’ in Washington.
What’s the blame?
Though Warren had many reasons to portray her anger yet the point which she mainly highlighted was that Apple makes some unfair demands which force their competitors to take a step backwards. They impose certain conditions on basis of which their competitors fail to put up a healthy competition. She pointed out that Apple Music is one such app, whose terms have left the competitors with no other good option. And Warren got full support from Spotify who are regarded as the greatest opponent of Apple music.
The head of the company’s commutation and public policy said that Apple gives themselves unfair amount of advantage in all possible spheres, starting from features up till the price. They have iOS, Siri and other benefits which help them to retain the topmost position. They not only have their own profit but also digest that from other opponents as well, who can neither upgrade their features nor can lower the price. Google and Amazon, have been similarly accused for promoting their own business by stunting the growth of other capable powers.
The prescribed solution
Through all these Warren just wanted to ask for one thing, i.e. a healthy competition. Google, Apple and Amazon, they all have helped to make this world a better place but now it is time that they let others, younger and new companies to try to change the world. However, Apple should think of having a corporate political action committee to save them from these frequent political problems.
