On Tuesday, a patent application that was published by Apple now officially backs up the company’s interest in regards to the future products with the help of the micro‐LED technology. One of the products that are a possibility is said to be the Apple Watch. Appleinsider had discovered the application which had been submitted in 2015 in the month of November.
However there was another application that had been made as a continuation which had been dated back to the month of April. The title of the Application is said to be a Micro device with a stabilization post.
In the document, it has been described about a way that the LED’s and microchips can be stabilized with the help of the technology that is called micro‐LED. In 2014, this technology had being brought by Apple. Andreas Bibi, who is said to have got the credit of being the inventors was said to be the CEO of LuxVue, this was the company that Apple had acquired in 2014 and whose area of expertise was said to be micro‐LED Technology.
There are various rumours that have been floating the air in regards to the fact that Apple plans to bring this technology to its products and has started with the Apple Watch’s future version. This is the version which is said to be hitting the markets during the second half of the 2017.
Though the exact time is yet to be known, however what is said is that it could be unrealistic, this is because the Micro‐LED features something that has not yet been included in any consumer product which has been shipped. Even the panels of this particular technology is said to be really difficult, apart from that, another factor is the cost of the micro‐LED panels in comparison to the OLED panels which is said to be expensive.
