The lawsuit was filed by a subsidiary of Straight Path Communications called Straight Path Group at the District Court of North California. It is said that the Face time of Apple is said infringe a product that is called WebPhone which was owned previously by NetSpeak Corporation. The complaint that was made recently was a renewal of the one that was made in 2014 by Straight Path which in 2015 had been dismissed without prejudice.
The properties which are said partly said to cover the audio conferencing and real time video between applications or devices which an IP address that is dynamic in nature that is in question by Straight Path is said the leverage the US Patent which bears the numbers 7,149,208, 6,701,365, 6,131,121, 6,108,704 and 6,009,469, all these claims go back to the year 1995.
