Waves is a popular name in the world of digital audio. They are known for many things among which audio plugins for live sound, mixing and recordings grab the attention. But presently, they have shifted their concentration to the interests of their customers. They wanted to create a certain app for both desktop and mobile users, through which they will be able to enjoy 3D audio in any headphones by the process of head tracking.
What’s the idea?
The idea is to recreate the experience of listening to three dimensional sounds similar to those which we come across in the real world on any kind of headphones. This recreation can be done both in mobile and desktop through Nx 3D app. The app is built on a product named Nx Virtual Mix Room which presents the same kind of atmosphere that is experienced by the professionals in the mixing studio.
This mission is accomplished through the head tracking system which is done either by using the in‐built camera of a computer or by a Nx head tracker. This head tracker is attached to the headphones and is connected through Bluetooth. Now, because of this one can have the feel of true 7.1 and 5.1 surround on the normal stereo. The games or the movies which were not meant for this kind of mixing can also be experienced through the commonplace headphones.
Why this 3D experience is needed?
The three dimensional effect helps us to be subjected to the real things or feelings in the world. So, undoubtedly this is an enriching and enticing offer. When in reality we hear sound, we do so with both our ears simultaneously but when we do so through the headphones, both our ears receive their own share of sound. Thus, we are denied a real and complete sound environment. The 3D app tries to mend this. The Nx headtracker and app can be availed at $99 but now it is quite cheap at $59. By September the finished item will be shipped.
