It seems to be that the walled garden approach is something that D‐Link is moving away from. This change happened in 2014 when it took its first step into the market of smart home. The field of view of 18 degrees was boasted with the help of home security camera that are wireless.
The DCS‐8200LH is said to also include the support of IFTTT, the interaction feature is also enabled with the home devices which are connected from the other manufacturers. The company has also pledged that in the future, they plan to introduce cameras which support the platform of Apple’s HomeKit.
The video is captured on the DCS‐8200LH with a resolution of 720p and with the help of the MicroSD card, it is stored. There is no cloud storage option presently, and the capacity of the storage size can be increased to 128 GB. The visual distortion can be reduced with the help of the De‐Wrapping technology due to the fact that if it does not happen then due to the wide angled lenses can cause the distortion.
The camera can be incorporated by buyers so that it comes into the smart‐home platform of MyDlink which is said to be D‐Link‘s own. This comes along with the motion sensor of the company, the siren, smart plug and the leak sensor, which also offer the support for IFTTT.
D‐Link had announced in separate news that they have committed to support the platform of Apple’s HomeKit. This will start with the home security camera which is said to be wireless that will be shipped later on in the year. It was also unveiled by Apple that there is a new app which is home connected and is centralised named Home; this app had been unveiled during the developers conference event that took place this year.
