Apple is all geared up for introducing their latest changes in their mac OS Sierra. Apple claims to be making their latest operating system safer for their users. The company has launched couple of very interesting updates for Gatekeeper in the way it works for its users.
The visible change is that now the user will no longer be able to open the unsigned apps in the system. By default the system will be restricting the users to couple of option which are either go to the app store and download the app or got the identified developer section of the app store plus.
This means that there will be higher restriction implied on the user now. There is no practical way of opening the app which is unsigned by the user. The user may still be able to open the unsigned app by one of the tricks however the system will definitely not allow the user to allow the app to be universal. It will only stay private for the user.
The second update which shall remain invisible to the user is as follows, Apple now has limited the amount of damage a user may be able to do its system. The unsigned apps will still be showing in the application folder however their location will be anywhere random in the drive.
The data won’t be stored at a single place for the user. This strategy is more likely going to prevent the attacks on the system. The vulnerabilities were found by one of the researchers last year which has been partially fixed by the company with the latest update for this year. Apple is trying to make their system more secure for their users now. They hope to be helpful for the Macintosh users after their latest update.
