Slack now allows you the facility to start fielding your voice calls; the official announcement was made by the company pertaining to the chat app that is very popular. The users of the app can now go ahead and just with a few clicks ring their teammates.
For those who want to access Slack and are using the Windows PC or Mac can go ahead and do so either by using Google Chrome. In the header, you will find an icon that looks like a phone which is the app’s own communication services. In order to only start a voice call, the user would need to click on that icon, by doing so; the users would not be required to open any other app.
Earlier in the year, during the launch of the beta version, this feature was also included. For Slack, this move was said to be an important one, the reason behind that is due to the fact that there are established players that compete with the company in the communication market. This also includes Google Hangouts and Skype.
The paid subscribers of Slack can host a conference call that has up to 15 participants in a direct message or any channel. This means that without wrangling the information for dialing in, the conference call can be hosted by the user. For those who have opted for the free service, from their team, only one person can be called during a given time.
These calls also have a little extra flair that has been provided by the company. While a person is talking, the user can react with the help of the various emojis that are present. These reactions have been taken from the text messaging set that is used in Slack. They also have the ability to give the conversation a lighthearted touch as well as prevent cross talking amongst the participants.
