It has been officially announced by Tony Fadell, that he has plans to leave Alphabet which is the parent company of Nest. He is known to be the creator of the Learning Thermostat of Nest as well as the father of the iPod. Tony, who was the founder of Nest, has been with Google ever since the acquisition of the company in 2014 for $3.2 billion took place. Apart from running the Nest Labs, he has also worked on various projects like Google Glass.
In his recent post, the founder of Nest stated that the decision he had taken to leave the company was at the right time. Originally this decision was taken late last year, Even though he may not be a part of the daily activities of Nest, however his involvement with the company will still be there as he plans to be an adviser to Larry Page and Alphabet. He also went on to say that for a transition, there is nothing known as a perfect time. Nest has grown a lot more from being just a thermostat company. The company has also created various kinds of ecosystem services along with softwares and hardware’s. He also went to say, the company will still keep on growing and evolve in the years to come.
He also stated that the future of the company seems to be bright and has a leadership team that is experienced. Fadell also stated that not only will he get the flexibility and time that will be provided as he takes on the role of an advisor, however it will also give him a chance to take on new opportunities and disrupt and create other industries. After his exist from the company, Marwan Fawaz who was a former executive with Motorola will join in as the new CEO of Nest.
