The demand for the internet gadgets has steeply increased in the market today. E commerce websites like Amazon and Ebay are full of such gadgets as people like to surf and buy such things. Looking at the accelerated speed of the searches on the internet it is being predicted that the search volume may rise up to 225 billion by 2020 itself. If 400 searches appear on Amazon for smart thermostats then a lot of filters are applied for finding the right product by the user.
For example the users sort the products by the price relevancy followed the star ratings. Generally the selection criteria is able to fetch some of the good top results for the user which is enough to make a quick decision to buy the product or not however needless to say there is no security fitting in your search terms. There is no security tag attached with the devices which are being traded and being bought simultaneously on internet. There is no tool in specific which may be able to differentiate the products based on their security update. It attracts a huge cost to embed the security into the new device. It is neither an easy task for them.
Both the times as well as money are two very important resources which the startups or the IoT vendors won’t be looking at to waste. Next level of a bigger issue is that how a user will be able to compare products over their security layer? It is very difficult to judge the amount of risk a device may be portraying as compared to another device. It takes a lot of effort form the user’s side to be able to take an informed decision. It is very important to find how a gadget is working and if it is able to fit in the requirement of the user.
