At the WWDC, there was no update pertaining to the new display of Apple. Even the timing pertaining to the next Gen, integrated GPU of apple Display is still unclear as the development stage is still going on. The Thunderbolt Display of Apple is priced currently at $999 and is slowly being overshadowed significantly by the Retina iMacs and MacBook when it comes to quality and screen resolution.
The earlier reports were reaffirmed as it has been heard that the Thunderbolt Display stocks at various stores of the company is running out quickly. There are no indications if there are any more units for the availability to be replenished. There is also an indicator which seems to be positive that a refresh is in the pipeline. In WWDC, it is believed that new hardware will be very light, however given the fact that that there was a chance that the audience could cheer, an announcement could be made by the company in regards to a new display along with a release penciled and keynote that would be kept for later in the year.
There have been rumors that have been out in regards to what is being offered with the new display. It is believed that the features of the Thunderbolt Display would include 5120 x 2880 pixels which is a feature of the 5k resolution display. There was also indications made in which suggested that an external GPU which would be dedicated is another thing that Apple has in mind. While this may sound a little crazy at first, however it has been explained by sources, that the main reason for this is so that it can be compatible with the various Macs that will be coming in the future. This will also help to connect to power GPU‘s dues to the super high resolution that would be displayer.
