It is said that there has been a major leap in the equipment orders for display manufacturing which can suggest that the preparations by Apple to build iPhones which are OLED equipped is on for the upcoming iPhone models of 2017. It was recently disclosed by Applied Materials which is the biggest producers in the world for such kinds of equipments. This information was disclosed recently in the second quarter fourfold spike of the company.
It is also said that this particular order is said to be in comparison to what the company normally witnesses throughout the year. As per what was told by Bloomberg, Gary Dickerson who is the CEO of the company said that there was a substantial growth in the orders that they had received would could indicate that the suppliers of Apple were the main driving point. Dickerson also stated in his statement as an indirect hint by saying that all of us knew when it came to mobile products, who was the leader in that front.
It has also been indicated that in order to ship the order, it would take around 3 quarters to complete the production. By next year, it is said that the installation of the equipments will also be in place so that the production of the new gear can start. This jump coincides with three other suppliers of Apple that is Foxconn’s Sharp, LG Display and Samsung which are all boosting their investments on display technologies. Sharp and LG in particular have stated that they have been investing in the OLED technology. There were also rumours which indicated that the 2017 iPhones of Apple is said to have edge to edge AMOLED and OLED display. Touch ID, embedding cameras and other such components that are present inside them. The panels for OLED is said to be curvable and thinner as well as the power consumed is less. It also provides a contrast that is higher.
