It was that some adult supervision to Android was supposed to be brought by said Sunder Pichai who is the chief executive of Google. This was said to have happened in 2014, however after that the efforts were being addressed towards Android 5 Lollipop enterprise. The following year the focus of the company was deployed on the software of the Android 6 Marshmallow.
The efforts that were put into both of them did not get the results that were needed, instead of touching new heights; the Marshmallow touched a new low towards the penetration rate in the first year which was around 20% lower than the previous year’s figures. There were also various kinds of initiatives that was introduced by Google which had become evident during the I/O me‐ too conference that was held last year. This included coming up with various kinds of initiative so that the company could catch up with Apple’s iOS such as moving up to the permission model for iOS apps, the copy, paste and duplication of the CarPlay and Apple Play. Another big news of the company was pertaining to the Google Photos app which was a free one that offered various kinds of services and a cross platform. Apart from giving the users of Google the access to the personal content, it still did not really help in providing an alternative platform that was more viable.
It is also safe to say that considering there was no noteworthy improvements made, the growth potential of the future has been frozen due to the flat line of the sales. This is resulting to the fact that the we can say that Android can now be called as the new Symbian for which the role has already started in the year 2010. The reason why Apple has managed to stand its ground is due to the fact that they have managed to work and meet the needs and requirements of consumers.
