One of the apps that used to let iPhone users know if their iPhone data had been accessed or if their communication has been spied on has been removed by Apple. While the App Store’s Approval Process is a very stringent and strict one, it seems that the System and Security info of Stefan Esser is one app from Apple’s point of view that is one that is not desirable.
This was an app which informed the user if the phone’s software that was running was authentic or not. It was also designed to let the person know about any software that was not desirable or contained any kind of malware. It used to let the person know if their mobile had been jail broken with the consent or knowledge of the owner.
During the App Store’s fourth review process, there were some problems that the app had incurred. It was also informed to Esser, that the detection of problems or weaknesses in the phone of the user was not allowed. Further on, the app could also lead to potentially misleading and inaccurate diagnostic pertaining to the iOS devices functionality.
From Esser’s point of view, he seemed to be very confused as to why the app was removed from the App store. He went on to say that the functionality of the app was similar to that which was allowed to remain and be available for download. He said that the one thing he would not know was to release the app’s jailbreak version thereby altogether side step the restriction of the company.
Considering the fact that the app had already passed the approval process of Apple, it does seem strange that the app was banned especially since it was an app that was designed to let people know about what was happening without their knowledge.
