There has been a transparent fingerprint sensor that has already been developed by third party companies which are capable of being embedded into the display of the smartphone. The same approach has been used by Apple which had been filed into the patent in March of last year. The reader would not be allowed to be embedded into the display; however, it would be an accurate reading in comparison to the capacitive sensor that Touch ID’s use.
The technology of finger scanning that is more accurate today is the ultrasound imaging. This is a kind of sensor where two transducers are placed the plate of glass on the X axes and Y axes. While one is for transmitting the other for receiving the ultrasound waves that is propagated through the glass plate. On top of the glass, the user has to place the finger which impedes the waves and the transducer that receives measures in wave patterns. This is a scanner that has not been tested too much in various conditions as it is a new one however the technological results show that it is something that is promising. The added advantage of this scanner in comparison to capacitive scanners is the ability to pervade residue and dirt on the scanner and the use of the optical scanner is eased as it is combined with large sized plates.
