In recent times, we have seen Google trying their best to incorporate the Virtual Reality technology in any form for users of smartphones. According to recent findings, Google has provided YouTube app users with a new update which allows the users to look for and find Virtual Reality content much more easily. Moreover, this is update is mainly for the iOS YouTube app and has not released for any other operating system of smart phones. According to the reports, the YouTube app now contains a special Cardboard button. This button basically helps the app to turn any given video on YouTube to a Virtual Reality video, which can be viewed using the Google Cardboard.
Earlier, YouTube contained videos which were mainly for virtual reality and only those could be viewed in virtual reality format using the Google Cardboard. With this new update for the iOS YouTube app, users can now select any given video, break it off to create a virtual reality video and see it through the Google Cardboard easily. Truly speaking, the experience of watching a video not really meant for VR but is seen in VR is not as good as videos which are created specifically for Virtual Reality viewing.
In order to gain access to the new Virtual Reality update for the YouTube app in iOS systems, one must have YouTube 11.18 or a higher version of YouTube. After the update is done on the YouTube, one needs to follow these steps to make any video a virtual reality video:
· Pause the video and click on the screen.
· This will bring up the “menu” options for iOS YouTube.
· After updating, it will be seen that other than the regular control options on the menu, a Cardboard option will be added.
· On clicking the Cardboard option, the app will immediately split the running video into two segments which will allow virtual reality viewing.
Since the video needs no editing from the user, this feature can be used for any given video on
the YouTube app.
