The new open source project called the PieMessage can now easily allow people using iPhone to talk with android users using the iMessage. The first prototype of the PieMessage has been released and it is one of its own kind of cross platform between the Android as well as the IOS.
The prototype video of the PieMessage has been released by its developer Eric Chee and the source code of the app has been released on GitHub. Many such projects have claimed similar services earlier too however all of them lived for a very short period of time.
The only difference between the other apps and PieMessage is that it uses Mac and OS X client as its server for supporting the cross platform between both the operating systems. All the earlier apps used third party servers to send messages among users and it raised security alarm for people who will be using the platform for sending messages. Chee explains that the script of the app called “messages.applescript” is the most important part of the project. The developers clarified that PieMessage is still being constructed and will take some time to develop completely.
Chee expressed his concern saying that in future apple may patch up with other companies to allow user send message across the cross platform and it may then break the purpose of the app as well as the motive behind the app. The developers of the PieMessage are working on the launch of the messaging app. They want to sooner showcase their app and leave it for download. The team is excited about creating the app for the people. They are confident about delivering the app successfully. The idea may be old however the way of work for the team is completely new. Chee’s motive behind developing the app is simple. He wants to connect both the platform which is impossible at the moment.
