Intel is finally ending their production of the atom processors as in the real world all the profits are only made by the company like Apple. They are able to inhale all the profits from the market and the processor making companies are not really able to make a good fortune against the sales of their devices. The decision to cancel Atom will surely be boiling down their profits.
Intel and Apple are somehow similar on the scale of the technology as well as the count of the employees however if we compare the level of the profits of the last year for both of the companies, Intel made quarter profits of what Apple has made last year however Apple’s profits were 4.7 times higher. After close down of the Intel Atom products, now Apple’s products are based upon Ax chips. Intel has never been able to scale their operations. The always wanted to be the backbone of the smartphone industry however could not be much successful in their attempt. They wanted to Apple’s attention with Silverthorne a new x86 chip for iPad.
Apple did not agree on accepting Intel’s technology and developed own application processor A4. There some plans of co‐partnership between Google and Intel too way back in 2011 however Android did not gain any special attention from Intel. Google had their own plans of selling lower end cheaper tablets using the technology of the Atom Powered technology however it could not be optimized further and the project had to be stopped midway. Intel has finally closed its operations for Atom after repeated failures and non‐operational partnerships between the companies and them. The profits gained from the partnership has to be covered form some of the other ventures of the company. Nothing official has been heard from the officials of the Intel company about their upcoming plans for the coming year.
