Cupertino Mayor Finds Trouble In Apple Headquarters

In a previous update from The Guardian, the Cupertino mayor had allegedly gone into making some comments which were not really presentable. On this, the mayor had gone on into saying how shocked he was that The Guardian had published something which the mayor had not done. According to the recent updates of the event, Barry Chang, the mayor of Cupertino claims that he had been abused by the Apple officials and had been escorted out of the headquarter premises when he visited to talk about some of the public matters of the city. According to him, it was not only an insult to the mayor himself, but also the city of Cupertino.

Cupertino Mayor Finds Trouble In Apple Headquarters

As put forward by the mayor, he wants Apple to take an active part in maintaining and making the city where their headquarters are set a better place. He says that though the company is earning huge profits, they are unwilling to look towards the better of their city. On the other hand, according to a report on The Guardian, Apple had actually paid the city $9.2 million USD as taxes in the financial year 2012‐2013. It remains a question why the mayor is not keeping this in mind when commenting against Apple.

Further investigation has shown that the mayor, Barry Chang wanted the council members of the city to demand $100 million USD from Apple. This money would have been used to upgrade the infrastructure of the city. This demand was due to the fact that the company had opened its new state of the art headquarters just a few months back. According to the mayor, none of the council members were willing to go with the decision since Apple is the biggest company of that area and they do not want to go against it.
