The hangout version 9 has been released by Google for iPads and iPhones. This new versions brings along a new functionality for the Low Power Mode as well as a native iOS share extension. With the latest Hangout Version, various kinds of content can be shared on iOS over the Hangout app without being in it, The Hangout extension can be active just by tapping the action/share button if users want to share content on apps like Photos or Safari. To tap on the More option, you will see colored app icons which are in a row. At the end of the row of icons, you have the More option.
You can share your videos, photos, URL’s, notes and various other things via Hangout by making sure that you are logged in, even your contacts and various other things from apps like Notes, Photos, Chrome and Safari. The accounts of the people who are in your contacts can receive the files that you want to share from with the help of the new menu that is brought up by the extension. You can select the account from where you wish to send it from.
As per the Hangouts 9 release notes, it states that the app includes a feature in which if you are on the Low Power Mode then video sharing while you’re on call will be suspended when the Low Power Mode state of your iOS 9 enters into it. For iPads the Low Power Mode is not available.
Despite the fact that for iOS 9, Hangouts has been enhanced however it still lacks various kinds of features which comes in handy for multitasking like the Slide Over and Split View for now. It seems to be that the new extension that has been added has already been implemented properly as well as the enhancement of the Low Power mode is also something that is a responsible and a clever feature considering that it is optional mode for power saving.
