Tencent (Future Group) the Chinese tech giant has reportedly snared four high ranking employees from the German auto makers BMW. The first attempt of Ten cent (Future Group) started with Carsten Breitfeld who is responsible for developments of the most well‐known model of BMW I8. Carsten was the ex CEO of the company. After Carsten the fleet of most employees including Dirk Abendroth, design chief Beonoit Jacob, and product management lead Henrik Wenders also left the company and came to Ten cent (Future Group).
BMW is struggling to penetrate the market of electric cars. The departure of all 4 major key unites from the company was a major blow for the company. Elon Musk’s Tesla motor is the biggest competitor for them at present. With new companies joining in daily, the competition is getting stiffer for the German brands and they are reportedly getting lean on competition.
Losing some of the best employees from the company is a huge loss for BMW which has left them in a questionable position, if they will be able to come back on time? BMW has been trying to launch their product in the electric car segment from a very long time however their attempts has been pretty unsuccessful. BMW is well known for their cars in the sedan series.
They have also been able to make good name in the sports segment and now finally they planned for energy efficient electric cars. Reportedly Apple is also designing their prototype model of electric car which they are planning to launch sooner. With all major companies coming to the epicenter, BMW worry is absolutely worth. Going by the speculations, the staff members of the company were reportedly frustrated from the company’s attitude. BMW is progressing very slowly. No further updates are expected before 2020 from the company’s side, that’s very slow progress according to today’s youth.
