In the latest initiative to take over NetFlix, Amazon has reportedly lowered down their monthly price for the subscription of their product Prime. Now it is available at a flat price of $8.99 monthly only. The viewers can buy the subscription of the video service product for accessing thousands of movies, TV series and serials at no extra cost. It reduces the pain of looking out on internet for your favorite movie or TV serial. Earlier than this, the company was only selling the annual plan of their product which was priced at $99 annually. They were offering free shipping to selected consumers however Amazon seems to have re‐strategized their product and started offering monthly subscription for raising the number of paid subscribers. This is also one of the company’s initiatives to takeover Netflix in terms of revenue and business.
Netflix has recently raised their subscription price from $7.99 to $9.99. They have increased the price recently for their consumers. Amazon found a gap here and immediately lowered down their prices as well as broke their annual plan into easy and affordable monthly plan for their subscribers. Amazon is hopeful about adding new people to their list with the new pricing for their product. They are excited to find the results of the experiment and should be announcing the results soon. They will soon be sharing the news if their experiment has been successful or not. In addition with the Prime video Amazon has also added complete access to Prime services at a stand‐alone price of $10.99. Amazon is still carrying their annual plan and will also be taking care of their monthly plan. The 12 month service is nearly $32 cheaper than Netflix and full prime service is at $107.88 annually. Apple TV’s were said to be supporting Amazon prime and rumors were also in market behind Amazon working on the prime app however Apple recently removed all listing from their website.
