In an interesting update by Apple, finally the monthly iTunes setup for the kids will be over post May 25th. Apple allowed monthly credits to be set up by the parents for their kids over buying apps from the Apple store until now however the facility is said to be foreclosed by Apple permanently. This was one of the rarest features which were being used by any parent across any nation. Apple found it useless. Instead they found that Families has been using iTunes gift cards for gifting credits to family members fro buying credits from the store. The foreclosure of the kids allowance will not hamper anything on the store and everything will be working as it has been till date.
The allowance for the kids was similar to how a credit card works. Once the credit gets over you will have to wait until next billing cycle for claiming your fresh available balance for usage. Thefeature was installed by Apple to help parents stop their kids on buying too much credit from the store. It was also a check to put a stop on useless spending habits of their kids. After saying goodbye to the ITunes allowance, family sharing will supposedly take its place. It is a great way to setup a check on your kids. It requires a whole parental lockup to be setup for your kids so when your kids tries to buy a game or an app from the store next time, it will prompt the parental permissions.
Buying the gift cards could also be a great idea for protecting parental control for your kids. They get a limited balance to spend on the store which they can plan according to their usage. It is like a prepaid card where the budget is predefined helping kids to take judgmental decisions for themselves.
