Microsoft won the personal computing war long ago and decades have passed since then. In this new era, the battle is for live video and Microsoft has decided to win it too. Bigger companies are acquiring smaller tech firms and video apps are dominating the market. When we think about live video, we think about Skype, but their challenge is to maintain their position. Well, it’s going to be very hard, as Facebook is perhaps their biggest competitor.
Automation is touching every aspect of the tech world and Skype bots just arrived. Bots enhance product quality and eliminate bugs; but Microsoft added a slight twist to this. Keeping in mind the number of mobile internet users, this feature was launched in Android and Apple users were also not left out. But surprisingly, no Mac version is coming as of now. Daily users want more than just messaging; bots will make sure they get that. Different bots are assigned different functions, but they all work together to make Skype more awesome. Google offers video chat, Facebook does that too, but Skype aimed to give the best‐in‐class experience. Chats will never be boring again and there are lots of fun stuff to do. These new bots are highly interactive and they are trained to communicate with users.
Now let’s talk about the developers. They can use their creativity to build innovative things and technologically there are no barriers. The open medium and advanced technology will make it a huge success. The testing process has already begun and by using the API, advanced bots are also being created. Other Microsoft services like Bing Music, Bing Images, etc. can also use bots, which is great. The company always encourages developers to come and share their expertise; the end result is enhanced service. Computing interactions must involve a personal touch and new applications will act like humans.
