Torrent sites changed the way people consume popular content and many questions were raised on privacy. Some sites were banned, new sites were launched; but the technology grew popular. Torrent apps are equally important and different people prefer different apps. People using OS X loved “Transmission”, but now people using Microsoft’s Windows will be able to use it. This application is very old and is there for almost 11 years. It’s reliable nature and high speed makes it everyone’s favourite. But in this new platform, the developers made no changes. They wanted expansion and that fueled their decision. No ads are included, so users will not be annoyed.
Forget about paying money, it’s still free. If it conquers Windows, the popularity will increase exponentially. By navigating to the company’s official website, the download file can be accessed. To increase the versatility, two versions are rolled out, 32‐bit along with the 64‐bit. A specific file should be chosen for 32‐bit users. The functionality is not bad but with regular updates, minor glitches will be removed. Its user base is currently over 1 million and uTorrent will face tough competition now. The version is stable and no crashes are reported. The simple interface makes navigation easy and desired options can be easily chosen.
Mike Gelfand headed this project and he sounded very optimistic. He assured users that, more surprises are coming and Transmission will continue to give them, the very best service. Every minute thing will be closely monitored and more features will be added on. He also mentioned about platform‐specific features, which is a great thing. They are not banking on heavy promotion immediately, but some plans are there. If paid subscription is introduced, some users can leave but financially it is vital. Deluge, Vuze and others are constantly introducing new things, so being on the top is hard.
