Since the time Apple TV has launched, there are many who have purchased the item and are presently using it. Although the numbers are quite big, the company has not been able to provide with any actual figures on the numbers of viewers or any such information regarding audience. With the new statistics system being implemented by Nielsen, everyone will get a much detailed look into the statistics of Apple TV viewers. As per the announcement of the company, they will be introducing tracking statistical data for many forms of connected devices similar to the Apple TV.
April 25th onwards, data of companies and connected units like Nintendo Wii, Sony Playstation, Google Chromecast, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV and Roku will be available to all via Nielsen. As per the C7 and C3 television ratings are concerned, Nielsen already has a state of the art system which provides with the numbers. On the other hand, this new system will be able to give a much more detailed view of the connected devices.
The main agenda of Nielsen is to know approximately how many homes across the United States of America has the connected devices fitted in them. It further goes on to track the time a family spends watching these connected devices. Going further, the system compares the previous data with the data collected of traditional television viewers. Since the final data will be presented in a manner where different connected device companies are mentioned separately, one can easily compare between the numbers of two separate providers. This information regarding the audience reports on TVs and such connected products are quite important for the program producers and makers. With these, they will get to know how to better their respective programs for better audience response.
