During June 2015, Apple had launched one of its most popular apps, the Apple News. This app was quite something when it started and has come a long way since then. The newest feature the developers have introduced recently in this app is the expansion of the ad section. Previously, the company had allowed only specific types of ads in for this app and the publishers of ads had to fight for a spot. Now, with the talks about expansion of the Apple News ads section, things will be much easier for the ad publishers.
As per the reports of a document which has been updated recently, Apple is actually looking to allow publishers to provide ads on Apple News. The only catch is that the ad needs to resemble a normal article. The document further goes on into stating about the new format that will allow the publishers to publish these ads. According to it, the ad format will actually be directly displayed in the feeds carrying contents. Moreover, they will be in line with the News articles that feature on the app.
At the beginning of this year, Apple had actually stated in a conference that they will be closing off the iAd section and its app. After that, they will be moving off to a different setup with their publishers as well as developers. Since the inception of the Apple News app, the basic monitoring of the app and its popularity among users were not up to the mark. The beginning of this year also saw Apple trying to make this app subscription based so that the app doesn’t turn in to a total loss. With this new format and inclusion of ads, one can hope for an increment in revenue from the Apple News section.
