The Final Fantasy IX director for the mobile version, Koichiro Sakamoto was interviewed by Gamesbeat. They are also planning to come out with a Steam version which is yet to be released, while reading the emails that were sent about the adoption of the challenges of the touched base screen.
What is the difficulty of developing the mobile version from the original one?
The answer to this question was given in a very simple manner. Sakamoto said that the level of difficulty purely depended on the below two conditions and they way it was taken care of. Though if the conditions were met, then it would not be as easy as it seems and the workload would also be different. They are
∙ How much of available legacy data which includes both graphic and program data.
∙ If the developers of the original version is still there with the company or not.
