In a long interview that was hosted by Bloomberg, Theodore Olson the head lawyer representing Apple shared his views about the ongoing concerns and discussed the different aspects of the case between Apple and the FBI. There were even discussions about the events that unfolded during the congressional hearing that happened recently.
Olson was quizzed by Emily Chang of Bloomberg who asked various kinds of questions on different aspects of what his views were about the case. His views and thoughts are very similar to what a lot of representatives had to share and even of Tim Cook; however he did have some new views and tit bits.
He stated that the company’s concerns pertaining to the privacy position and FBI’s want to collect data on the iPhone has no middle grounds that can be seen. He ended the note stating that if the FBI got what they wanted it can result to an Orwellian society.
He also spoke about the constitutional front of the company stating that the government cannot force a company to bend their ways to act as the way the government wants them to. He went ahead to say that the company has their own rights about how they want to design as long as it was considered legal.
He said that even the encryption technology was legal. Olson also stated that the rulings by the judiciary are not the place for considering the issue that there is in hand. Though he is not sure about what the outcome would be considering that ever judge will have their own opinion and view about the cases that they are hearing. He also wanted the government to consider a balance between what the law enforcements are concerned about as well as not to force companies to do things that are against their will.
