For those who are waiting to use the Oculus Rift on their Mac, well the wait is still not over. It is not the company that is the reason behind the hold up. The Founder of the virtual reality headset, Palmer Luckey said that it is with the company He was also asked about the future of the company would work with Apple. Answering the question he said that they would if the company came up with a really computer, then there could be a future between the two companies, he marked this statement in a press event that was held recently.
He went on to say that Apple does not give priority to high end GPUs. He said that a person can get a Mac Pro at $6000 which will come along with a FirePro D700 AMD which will be the top of the range but it will still not stand up the specs that are recommended by the company.
He even went on to say that they will give Apple their complete support if the company decides to go ahead and give the GPU’s a priority, like how they used to earlier. But right now the company doesn’t have even one machine that can support the specs that is needed.
This year, it has been a coming out celebration as a lot of companies have planned to release hardware and softwares that will take the users wearing these goggles into a different 3D world. Apart from the Oculus VR, the HTC Vive and Sony Play station are also planning to land in the customer’s hand in 2016.
Juniper Research which is the watcher of the industry expects that for this year the total number of headsets sales is said to be around 3 million. It has also estimated that by 2020, the sales is said to touch around 30 million.
