Tomorrow marks the day when the official statement by Apple is going to be heard by the Congress. The company is all set to let them know why they refused to oblige with the order that was passed by the judge to unlock the iPhone of the suspect and provide the necessary help to the FBI. Bruce Sewell who is the General Counsel of the company is said to be along with the other employees to help deliver the statement that has been prepared for the hearing.
The hearing is said have been titled as Balancing America’s’ Security and will answer all the questions that are going to be asked by the Congress as well as address the Panel.
The full statement of the company’s explains the reasons why the Backdoor that has been demanded by the FBI would set a dangerous precedent. They will also let them know as to how the intrusion of the government in this front would affect the safety and privacy of the citizen.
Ted Boutrous, the lawyer of the company was seen on CNBC for a chat that lasted for around 15 minutes where he spoke about the case. He provided some useful information and thoughts about what Apple has prepared in their statement that would be said in front of the Congress.
He even called the entire case in a broader aspect as a policy and political question saying that it is not right to deal with it the court.
He stated that there were a lot of risks that was involved. While the government is portraying this as a matter of national security, what they are overlooking is the interest for the security of the citizens when it comes to their data. The company feels that this is a risk that is very significant and the company is better off not creating the tool and prefers to choose the data and information of their customers.
