On Monday, in an interview with CNBC, Warren Buffet was asked about his views pertaining to the ongoing battle between Apple and the FBI. Off late this has become one of the most talked about topic especially since the time the CEO refused to follow the court orders. Warren‘s take on the whole issue stated in very clear lines that he is not favoring sides by is just stating what he feels.
In his reply, he stated that we live in a very dangerous world. During the initial days of September 2001, the information that we used to receive about something that may just happen was credible, then in that case, the security would trump privacy, however if you look at the situation today. The way things are going, it is more of looking around for things that are small. In this front, he supports the privacy factor.
He continued to say that in case there was something that was really big, something that the FBI head or attorney general is willing to put their signature on and stand in front of the judge and let him or her know that they need a particular information and it is needed right away, he would trust the officials have behaved in the right way.
He went on to say that even Privacy has certain limits. He also added that he understands Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook’s position regarding the fact that opening the iPhone would be a matter of concerns for the common American. He went on to say that though he didn’t know the CEI that well, however he does feel that he is a person who is high grade. He also felt that the company would have corporate in the event if it was a target. He said that everything cannot be termed as national security.
