The starting of this month showed a lot of Apple iPhones getting bombed due to a mysterious “Error 53” message. This problem only occurred in iPhones which were at some point repaired by unauthorized service stations that used non‐original components to fix the phones. It has been also seen that this problem occurred mainly on repairs done on sensor in the Touch ID which is present in the Home button of iPhones. Recently, Apple has released updates of the iOS version 9.2.1, but these updates will only be available for the users who update their iPhones using iTunes.
This new version of the iOS, version 9.2.1 will not only fix the disabled or bricked iPhones, but also allow to the user to make any type of third party changes, without risking their iPhone getting bricked again. Now, the users can safely repair their faulty home buttons, or use faulty cables from third party service stations.
Although this is an updated version, it is not a new version of the iOS 9.2.1. Only some internal changes have been made to combat the Error 53 issue. One also needs to understand that this new version is only available on iTunes, and can be downloaded from there. Users using Wi‐Fi network or iCloud cannot download this version. On the other hand, if one is actually able to download updates from iCloud, they have never actually had the Error 53 issue. For others, who use iTunes, the update is available there at present and they can easily connect and fix their iPhones.
Since the “Error 53” issue, Apple had faced a number of lawsuits. This new fix for the disabled iPhones will definitely lower the heat against Apple. Another thing the users should know that this update will get the phone to start up but not fix the third party Touch ID system and make it work. Since the Touch ID is used to recognize fingerprints, and with the third party system, the security is not up to the mark. Thus, Apple kept the Touch IOD system from working as it would help the user to keep their personal information kept on the phone private.
