China is now officially the 5th country that accepts Apple pay. The feature has finally been launched and now starts the significant challenges and great opportunities for the company. On Wednesday, the company had made an official announcement pertaining to the fact that China has finally opened its doors for Apple pay. This was done on the Developer page of the company and even on CEO Tim Cook’s Weibo account.
The Chinese customers can now go ahead and go ahead use the feature to make their purchases from authorized retailers. The concept of paying for goods and services from the Smartphone has been in the market for a long time now especially in countries just like China.
The Apple pay concept which was launched in 2014 actually caught the interest of the people. Apple Pay‘s biggest competition is against the pay feature of Google Android and Samsung Pay. Even Retailers like Wal‐Mart and banks like JP Morgan are also planning to join the competition.
Presently Australia, UK, Canada and US have already started using the Apple Pay feature. However, for the company to strengthen its roots in this front, the company has to now work towards the expansion of the service for their customers. China reigns No1 in the smart phone market and for the company’s revenue, it falls in the 2nd position as the biggest market.
While the entry has finally been made, the next step is winning the hearts of their customer’s in the Country. Presently consumers in China are already using their phones to make payments for services and products. The two giants Alibaba Group and Tencent Holdings are the major online companies that sell different products in the country. They have already managed to make their place in the market; this is also one of the main reasons why Apple Pay will face a lot of challenges in the country.
