Apple is already preparing for the launch of the “iPhone 5se” and they are leaving no stoned unturned to make sure that the supply is smooth. The company called “Wistron” recently signed a deal with Apple and they will supply Apple’s next model. Foxconn Electronics already works with Apple as their primary supplier. The bulk of production will be handled by Foxconn Electronics but Wistron will serve as a support. Apple doesn’t want to take any chances with the manufacturing process, so they introduced Wistron is the picture. Apple’s 4‐inch handsets by Foxconn already are hugely popular and this move will reduce the pressure on them.
There are a lot of things, which small businesses can learn from Apple. The company handles so many departments and they have ventured into various sections. From mobile phones to video editing to music streaming, Apple is everywhere. They give equal importance to every single job and that is what makes them superior. They are here to remain at the top and every single corporate activity is aimed towards achieving that. Different ODMs are being added from a long time now and in last year too Compal Electronics was added. They dealt with the manufacturing of the iPad mini. Some market analysts believe that Apple wants to have a long‐term relationship with Wistron and they are slowly nurturing them. In a few years, Wistron can very well be an established assembly house for iPhone.
The iPhone’s touch panel requires a lamination and that responsibility was handed over to Wistron. By giving small duties, Apple is testing Wistron’s capability and this is what big companies do. Even for the iPhone 7 model handsets, two sets of suppliers will be present. According to rumours, iPhone7 will not have the typical headphone jack and some other features. In March, this year Apple has some product launches to deal with including iPhone 5se and the iPad Air 3. The 5se model will have a highly efficient 8MP rear camera and it will powered by an A9 chip.
