At the CES , Samsung held a press conference where new products were announced. Two new variants of the Gear S2 Smart Watch were announced, Rose Gold and Platinum variants. Also was the key announcement that future iOS support for the devices is being worked upon.
The product in question – the Gear S2 Watch is the first round display watch by the company. It was launched in August. It was originally available in normal band editions, but later premium editions were released, much like the Apple Watch, in Rose Gold and Platinum.
Presently the Gear S2 runs with a Tizen OS, and works compatible only with Samsung phones, but that is about to change as the announcement indicated. The iOS support will help spread the Gear S2 appeal. It will also help Samsung compete with Apple , that too on Apple’s own iOS platform. The dates regarding the iOS support implementation have not been announced.
Samsung also made announcements about many other products that it will release over the year, including a Microsoft Surface Pro-like tab , the 12-inch Galaxy Tab Pro S tablet which shall run the Windows OS Windows 10. Also two slim Notebook 9 ultrabook laptops were announced. The Tab Pro S will have a a 2160 x 1440 Super AMOLED screen along with an Intel Core M processor with 4GB RAM capacity and 256GB memory capacity.
Samsung’s Notebook 9 laptops are available in 13.3’’ and 15’’ variants, the smaller weighing much less than the MacBook.Both have a FullHD1080p display.At present the pricing and releasing details of both the laptops as well as the tablet are not available.
