Newspaper app of Facebook Called Paper Removed as Services are Discontinued

After the launch which happened two and a half years of the Paper app, it is said that Facebook is planning to pull it down. The newspaper styled app was said to be introduced initially as an alternative to the flagship that is being offered by iOS. They also went on to say that the App would not be available to the existing or new users. Those who are already registered with the service have already got the necessary notification about the discontinuation of the service.

The company stated the goal of launching the Paper app was so that immersive and interactive elements of the design could be got for the interaction and reading of the content that is there on Facebook. It was said by the company, that they managed to learn the importance of the various elements which contribute towards the engaging experience of people.

In 2014, when the Paper app had been debuted, it managed to garner the critical acclamation for the interface of streaming as well as a fresh take on the customizations of feeds. This is very similar to a newsreader which is said to be traditional, the users were allowed to categorize the updates, and however the common elements of the users were eschewed. Apart from that, for interactive animations, there were virtual buttons which was said to favour it.

For example, articles, status updates and photos could be displayed easily in full screen; while via a swipe able card system it made the browsing possible. Push Pop Press’s Mike Matas’s who is said to be the developer of the digital book called Dreamed up was published in 2011 by Facebook. Though Paper had a following which was said to be small, however it was a devoted one. As the company went ahead to other projects, Paper‘s development stopped.
