Apple Smart Watches Sales Smooth In Q1 Results

Apple seems to be happy with their performance this quarter. Finally Apple has managed to sell around 1.5 million units of their iWatch. IDC estimates that Apple have managed to sell at least 1.5 million units of their iWatch. The company is also expected to be introducing some holiday discounts for their sports watch model to touch down their targets of the sales. With 1.5 million sales of the Apple iWatch, Apple has again managed to be the number company in the world in comparison with its competitors. Apple is far ahead of its nearest competitors Samsung.

Apple has at least managed to beat down Samsung with 0.7 million units, Motorola with 0.4 million, and Huawei with 0.2 million of their wearable watches. However Apple is far behind in competition in basic wearable’s devices form the companies like FitBit and Xiamoi. FitBit has managed to 4.8 million units shipped and Xiaomi with 3.7 million units.

The reason behind the success of the basic wearable devices is because they do not run any third party apps on their platforms. They serve to be the basic wearable devices for the users.  These inexpensive basic wearable includes the basic functionalities like heart rate monitoring,  children tracking, pedometer, etc. Apple’s CEO Tim Cook is expecting higher sales in the unit sales of the wearable sales due to the seasonality. The next generation of the Apple iWatch is not expected before this fall and Apple shall be including some deep discounting for sales of their devices. Apple has also launched their designer watch straps from Hermis for the people who like to wrap their smart watch in style. They are no less costly than the watch. These watch straps are priced at roughly $150 each and can be bought separately for the usage. Apple is expecting to sell more before the end of this year.
