Apple Holds Onto Its Numero Uno Position

Apple which is quite famous for its unique and useful devices, tries hard to retain the best position surpassing all other throughout the year. With the publication of Apple’s fiscal Q3 earning report, the figures of sales, the order of standing, the amount of loss or gain incurred etc. can be well understood. Even after failing to compete with its own sales of the same quarter of previous year, Apple maintained its topmost position as its other competitors are way behind. In this report, IDC is generally talking about the sales of the second quarter of business.

Apple Holds Onto Its Numero Uno Position

Q2 earnings

In the second quarter i.e. from April to June, previous year Apple sold 11 millions of units iPad but this year, the sale was below 10 millions of units. So, a steady decline is well visible but since its arch rival Samsung’s sale also gone down heavily, so it could manage its own position. The entire tablet market has experienced a setback from the shipment of 44.1 millions of unit to 38.7 million which is equal to a deficit of 12.3% every year.

Apple’s condition

After the launch of Apple’s second detachable, Apple has seen a light of hope. Apple’s ASP i.e. the average selling and price and the amount of revenue increased and the year over year decline lowered to 9%.

The reduction of prices of the previously popular items is expected to have a positive effect on the customers and also on the standings. The striking fact is Android is more popular (65%) than iOS (26%) in the tablet market and the residual share belongs to Windows. Lenovo, Huawei and Amazon.com have occupied the 3rd, 4th and 5th place respectively. Their percentage of profit has increased from previous year but they still have a long way to go.
