Facebook Launches Encryption for Messenger App

After WhatsApp now Facebook is planning to apply end to end encryption on their messenger app too. This means that now even Facebook will not be able to find about the conversations between the people. So far the procedure for the application of the end to end encryption is still in the phase of the testing. Facebook says that the end to end encryption shall be able to imply within their messenger app by summer.

Facebook Launches Encryption for Messenger App

The company plans to begin with a secret one to one conversation in the first phase of their action. The messages being exchanged in the secret conversation shall not be accessed by anyone. Some of the companies like Apple iMessage, Whatsapp and Apple FaceTime have already applied end to end encryption for the users.

Facebook is taking a slight different approach towards the encryption. Unlike Whatsapp, the complete encryption has already been implied for the users. Whatsapp earlier released partial encryption as their first phase of measure for the users. It was later then converted into complete encryption for them. As if now Whatsapp has compete encryption already applied for all.

Instead of applying the encryption for all, Facebook leaves the encryption option for the users who choose to be on chat. Again the secret conversations with some are left optional for the people. The secret conversation of the Facebook only reads the information of the device. The secret conversation of the Facebook will also not be supporting several options like rich text, GIF’s, videos, etc. Facebook says that they have adapted the technique of white paper outlining approach which means that the images being shared on Facebook will also be encrypted. There are around 1500 new emoji’s added by Facebook in their chat for the people last month. Facebook is working on their product development and planning to launch few more new features.
