Apple regulates its reign over the lightning connector through the MFi (Made for iPhone) program on basis of which they permit certain companies to build headphones using lightning connector. The Development Kit introduced by Cirrus Logic is under MFi program and through it the superiority of the lightning earpods than the normal ear pods is explained. The lightning earpods give an experience of superior quality of music and audio. Moreover, it can be connected with an iOS app to get customized audio experience.

Technology used

The design of the MFi headset as referred by Cirrus Logic is actually a platform of development. CS42L42 codec is used in order to provide the user with a brilliant quality of audio while watching video or listening to music. This codec also possesses 114 db headphones and converters that can produce loud sound and can also convert poor quality sound to get clear and undisturbed phone calls.

This Development Kit has many reference designs for showing how easily one can produce compatible headphones to suit the needs of the users. Through the MFi programme of Apple, this kit can be availed.
