Nikkei Report Suggests That the Yearend Sales of iPhone is Said to Be Down by 8.6%

After the suggestion was made a few weeks back, it seems to be that the company has plans to move the iPhone update to a cycle of three years. Another pessimistic report had been released by Nikkei which has cited a source that is unnamed with one of the major suppliers that the predictions of the pieces for the complete sales of iPhones this year would be around 210‐ 220M. The year on year drop of 8.6% is represented by the lower number.

Terry Gou, the Chairman of Foxconn is said to back the view that has been reported. It has also been told to the staff that the iPhone demand will be feeble into early next year at least, Foxconn choose not to make any comment in regards to the report. While the orders are being placed the over estimating demands that has been made by the company is one of the insight that has been given by Suppliers. It is also believed, that the marketing decision that has been taken seemed to have become the root to a few issues. The source also went on to say that presently the company plans to go ahead and sell iPhones that are of various colors. This has resulted in a build up for in the inventory for the suppliers.

This is compared with the previous lower costs and color schemes which are said to be simple. Various reports have been released which have also suggested that the iPhone 7 which is scheduled to release is said to be almost similar to the iPhone 6/6S, however, it is also reported that the plus model is said to come with a dual camera setup. Last week’s’ CIRP report also suggested that when it comes to upgrading, it is believed that Americans seem to be slower.
