Super Small SSDs Unveiled by Samsung Results in Kaby Lake Processors of Intel Being on Track for Launch

At Computex it was announced by Intel that by the late 2016, the company has plans to release the Kaby Lake processors which is said to be the next gen. Being sky lake’s successor, Kaby Lake is said to be built on an architecture of 14‐nanometer. The USB3.1 and Thunderbolt 3 is said to be supported by the chipset, however the Display Port 1.3 will not be.

This means that with a single cable, the 5k displays will not be powered by with the machines that use the Kaby Lake chips. As per Intel, the company says that main feature of the Kaby Lake processor is for multiple advancements in media capabilities, battery and performance. Earlier in the year, there was an update made by Apple stating that their line‐up of 12″ MacBook is said to be Skylake processors. There also stated that the same treatment would be given to the Pro line‐up however not it seems to be that the line‐up of the MacBook Pro is said to be the one that is jumping directly to the Kaby Lake processors.

If this is the case, then Intel and Apple would be probably hit the Q4 supposedly for MacBook Pro with an update window. This also means that those Pro users will not be pleased with such a late release in the life cycle of the Skylake machine. Samsung also additionally announced that the NVMe Solid state drives mass production has already started in a single ball grid array package or BGA. This means essential that the SSD’s are faster and smaller than the generations that was released before this. With the TurboWrite technology of Samsung, the writing and reading capability of the drive will go from 900mb/s for writing and 1500mb/s for reading. It has been said that later on in the year, the MacBook line‐ up is said to be refreshed by Apple.
