No doubt there was also an element of fear due to the fact that if the company got to know who the employee was, then a legal action could be taken against the person. As per the confidentiality contract that is signed by the employee with the company, it forbids any Apple store employee to talk about what happens in the store while they are working. There are also policies that are hindered which cause the lack of advancement and in some cases changing their work schedules from a full time basis to a part time one. During the interview the person also went on to say that while he or she was working with the company, there were around 5‐8 store managers of different kinds.

It was also revealed that from that list, just one of them was there who had started from Apple, while the rest of them were hired from outside. The hourly base pay for the employees of Apple store start at around $11.70 or £8 and this did not include any kind of sale bonus. This meant that the workers of the store could not even go ahead and buy any kind of device that they want, even if they do want to buy the device, it would result in them going into a debt. There are a few job positions which can help in the generation of higher pay such as a Genius Bar technician, however not many of them liked that particular job since it meant that they had to deal with customers who were angry and irate . This was really difficult as it often resulted in them also going ahead and receiving various kinds of threats which included even death threats.

The interview continued where the individual said that it felt like cult working in the Apple store as the company’s products as well as leader such as Steve Jobs was worshiped, there was also a Fearless Feedback policy in which both positive and negative feedbacks were given by the workers at least once in a day to their peers.

This was especially done during times when the company wanted the employees to push various kinds of products and services to the customers such as the Apple Care Warrantee or even other kinds of sign ups even though they had no relevance to the clerks as they were not actually dealing with product. For example, if there was a person who was selling MACs, it was expected that they also should go ahead and let the customers know about the different iPhone sign ups and carriers.
