Ireland Delays Apple’s Plan of Opening Data Center

As per the latest updates Apple is planning to open their latest data center in Ireland. This is known to be one of the largest data centers of Apple opened till date. Apple planned to be running the complete data center via renewable energy however now certain objections are raised for Apple against their usage of the power consumption. Apple has sidelined their own statement and said that according to their own estimation they’ll be using 18 generators with a total of 300 megawatt.

It will be totaling the 8 percent of the national power consumption of the complete Ireland in a year. Apple has scheduled investment of 950 Million US dollars in Ireland and they are planning to continue developing the project for next 15 years. The representative of Apple has said that they won’t be threatening the environment in Ireland. Apple was given a green signals earlier however now construction will be delayed now.

The decision committee An Bord Pleanála has raised 5 concerns which need to be answered by Apple. The company is trying to streamline the huge demand of their services like App Store, Apple Music, Apple Pay and iCloud. Currently the data centers of the Apple are handling the exchange of billions of messages each day. After opening their data center in Ireland they will be able to match up to the demand of the consumers easily without creating any hassles.

Apple says that the trees which will be removed while the construction of the site will be completely restored by them. Apple has reiterated their statement by responding that they will be burning the 100 percent renewable energy for their data center. The drinking water will be arranged by rain water harvesting. Apple is promising every possible term to gain the permission of opening the data center. They are also willing to cooperate with the authorities for a smoother business transaction.
